The polyester cloth material seems to be durable, but it looks cheaply sewn together. Overall, I wasn't impressed and wouldn't have bought it had I seen it firsthand. Rental at the local tuxedo shop would have been around $36. I explored our options and found these Vesuvio Napoli brand vest-necktie sets. They were on sale and the price of purchasing them was about half what it would have been to rent. Since I got 13 of them, shipping was free. While the description of the product suggests an Italian product, it is, in fact, an Italian name given to a product made in China. I don't know if there is a Vesuvio Napoli clothing line in Italy. That's the only negative, as far as I am concerned. The material is 100% polyester with a satin-like feel and look. The tailoring is perfect. The vest has a full back and it is lined. The sizes run a bit large (we got 3 different sizes) but all the men were pleased with the fit, look, comfort and the quality. We opted for the long tie which we wore either with lay down or wing collars. The long tie and the vests looked good with either shirt. Since we were clearly hamming it up, I wore mine with a black tuxedo shirt which made me look like a clichéd, but stylish gangster from the 30s. Considering that one will wear a gold tuxedo vest and tie only occasionally, this product will satisfy most, but the most discerning. Maybe the folks demanding best quality and to whom money is no object will be disappointed that it is not an Italian product, but, then, those folks don't shop at Amazon, or do they? In this instance, you actually get more than what you paid for. Having shopped around for a couple of nights and looked at hundreds of vest-tie combination, I don't think we could have done better than we did with this Vesuvio Napoli set. All the women and guests complimented us on the look. And that what it's all about, isn't it?
